Help answer the question aboutyellowstone National Park
Which entrance to Yellowstone National Park is best to visit the Old Faithful geyser?
Which entrance to Yellowstone National Park is best if one wanted to visit the Old Faithful geyser? Separate question: which entrance would be best to enter the park by (still to visit the geyser) if we were traveling there from Boulder, Colorado?
Please give as much detail as possible. I'm pretty terrible with geography. Thanks so much for your help!
Awesome video…I am excited and can’t wait to take my trip there next summer for the first time! Also loved the background music.
i WANNA GO!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF is up with the Buffalo’s back at :46? Looks like a festerin’ Gunshot Wound!!!
Maldición ! Cómo puede ser tan hermosa América desde Tierra del Fuego hasta Alaska !
WOW THATS FUCKING AWESOME
Thanks so much for posting this beautiful video – it brought back memories of our trip to Yellowstone last summer-and then some – we didn’t see bear or moose! Such a magical place. I hope to go again-early spring-before there are lots of tourists, even so, it was a fabulous vacation and such a special part of the USA. Thanks again. DelisaProductions.
Wow this footage is amazing. How long were you in the park to get all these shots and when were you there. Plus i like the music too XD
Tennessee
I’ll be going there for two days next month with Caravan Tours…it’ll be the first time I’ve ever flown and first time I’ve ever been out of the South….been wanting to go to Yellowstone more than any other place for many years, it’s just so beautiful with the scenery and for someone with a huge eye for nature…I’ll be there August 24th and 25th of next month, and can’t wait to say the least!
All I can say is they said the world was going to end on 9/10/2008.
It did not end, so why should we believe it's going to end in 2012?
I watched the History channel and it talked about it, and it made me think about that it was going to end…. Well, we will see when the time comes. But I don't think it will…..
Allah knows the best!
It doesn't matter whether any or all of the above factoids are correct or even believable.
If they're true, we can't do anything about any of them, so why worry?
If they're not true (remember all the doomsayers in 1999?) we'll just keep on keeping on.
Don't worry, be happy! Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think! Let's party like it's 1999!
In the meantime, I'm stocking my bunker.
Every one of your reasons is either wrong or had bad logic.
1. I don't know if this is true, but who cares? You said yourself that our own predictions were more accurate, because we were accurate enough to tell they were off by 34 seconds. So we're even more accurate than they were, and we predict nothing.
Also, the mayans *did not* predict the end of the world. They predicted the end of an age and the dawning of a new era of enlightenment.
2. Completely wrong. In fact, the sun has been unusually *quiet* for the last year or so. You can go to spaceweather.com at any time and see the current solar activity. Right now, at this moment, the sunspot count is zero. Zero is as stable as it gets, and zero is a common sunspot number recently. The next peak is in 2011, not 2012, and there's no reason it will be any different than the thousand previous peaks that did not harm us in any way.
3. Also completely way off base. Any physicist knows there is absolutely no danger of creating a black hole that will destroy the earth. Not to mention, their first experiments are scheduled to start in august of *this year*, not 2012. What the heck makes you think physicists have such a high interest in destroying the world? Besides, cosmic rays bombard earth every second of every day with higher energy than the LHC will be able to manage. If it was possible for LHC to create a black hole, then black holes would be created every day on earth.
4. The bible specifically says that no man will know when the end time is coming, so anyone who claims to know the date from the bible, 2012 or otherwise, is wrong. The I Ching? Please, you're talking about fortune telling based on tossing coins. You can make it say anything you want.
5. This is almost beyond dumb. We're talking about geologic time scales here. Yes, the thing erupts on average every 650,000 years. The last eruption was 640,000 years ago. When a geologist says we're 'due for an eruption' what he means is 'this thing will probably erupt sometime within the next 100,000 years or so.' We still have 50,000 years to go until the 'due date' and the due date is a rough projection, there is a huge amount of variance on either side in human terms. No geologist will posit an exact date of eruption, 2012 or otherwise, because that's complete stupidity.
6. Again, it's completely impossible to pinpoint a projected date for a catastrophic event. When people who do these calculations say that 'we're due' they are talking about geologic timescales, because there is a standard deviation of tens to hundreds of thousands of years in the data.
7. There is no indication that a pole shift is coming. A pole shift is an event that takes thousands of years to complete, if it were going to happen in 2012, it would already be happening now, and for that matter for the entirety of the industrial age and probably for a while before that.
I know you probably think this stuff is true, but the place you got this information from is lying to you big time and you're just buying into it. Please try to think more critically. Check into stuff instead of just believing everything you read because it sounds fantastic. I mean seriously…
The world isn't going to end, Doomsday is a ridiculous idea that has no bearing in reality. The world is only going to end when our fat red giant sun swallows us in 5.4 billion years. Sleep easy.
yes we will die.
>Mayan Calendar Ends on December 21, 2012
What were they supposed to do, make a calendar that goes on literally forever? That would be quite a large calendar and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have enough stone tabs to make it. The calendar has to end somewhere.
> Sun Storms Reach its Peak in 2012
Sun storms don't last forever. They last a couple days at most, that's it. The power grid wouldn't get knocked out permanently.
>Religions, Bible, I-Ching, Hindu – All Warn Us About 2012
Not true at all. Where do you get this?
>Yellowstone Volcano Will Erupt in 2012
Volcanoes can lower the Earth's temperature by approx 1 to 2 degrees for approx 3 years. That's not even enough to counteract man-made global warming.
> Poles Will Shift in 2012
This planet has been around for billions of years and life obviously hasn't got wiped out all the other times the poles have shifted. There is not a shred of scientific evidence that a pole shift has ever affected the ecosystem or caused the extinction of any species. We wouldn't get "burned to a crisp" – the magnetic field protects us against solar wind, not ultraviolet rays.
Also questions about 2012 normally are asked in the Religion and Spirituality section, not the Astronomy and Space section.
i dont believe in these stupid things:))
best of luck!!
keep smiling:))))))
