Large mounds are found depicting the Chief’s house, the temple and mortuary houses. In many mounds nobility is buried along with items a person needs after death. Many artifacts show that people used to decorate themselves with complicated hairdos, tattoos, feathers, copper ear jewelery and shell beads.
If you want to see the ancient rice plantation then come to Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation State Historic Site. Visitors can walk below the oak trees to the homes with fine antiques and gaze into the fields where rice once flourished.
By the time civil war erupted the plantation drive, hurricanes, war and the lack of labor ended the rice empire. The rice business changed into the Dairy business that distributed a high quality of milk in Glynn County which also came to an end in 1942.
New Echota Cherokee Capital State Historic Site exhibits several original and reconstructed buildings of the olden times when native tribes used to live, before the arrival of white folk.
Visitors can see the Supreme Courthouse, a Cherokee homeland, the council house, the restored house of the missionary Samuel A. Worcester and Vann’s Tavern. In the reconstructed print shop the original copies of bilingual (English and Cherokee) paper printed by a hand machine can also be seen.
With its strong political base, the Georgian Governors encouraged the general public to invest in Georgia. In the 20th century, Atlanta as the capital of Georgia emerged as a leader in social, political and economic progress of the nation.
In January 1977, a Ex-Georgian Governor was elected as the President of USA, Jimmy Carter went to the White House.

Any country is passing from democracy to comunism. Socialist presidents are beeing elected but any of them is ending with democracy. Chávez was reelected president of Venezuela in a world-wide recognized election. Including the United States recognized the Venezuelan election as beeing democratic. And is too soon to say that Latin America is turning to socialism, those leaders were elected only a few years ago, many presidents in Latin America are still right-wing. 10 years ago almost all presidents of Latin America were from the right-wing. Things change, today is the socialist wave, tomorrow may be another wave. And the US don't has the moral right to care about Latin America, why do you care so much with us? Leave us alone. Actually about 40% of the electorate here considers themselves Independent and these are the voters who will decide the election. Some states do not require you to declare a party affiliation. In those states all registered voters can vote for any candidate of either party. Some states have "closed primaries" which means you must be a registered Republican or Democrat and you can only vote for the slate of candidates in the party of your registry. The "closed primary" states have this rule supposedly because some voters of another party would deliberately try to get a weak candidate of another party to win the primary.
